30 Oct

So Halloween is upon us and it’s got a bit spooky…

I’m a bit of a fancy dress fiend and decided to go with a ‘Twilight’ vampire theme, re-styling my Zombie Prom Queen dress from last year:

Lace fingerless gloves – H&M

Black and Gold Ring – Miss Selfridge

Silver Charm Necklace – River Island

Dark Silver Drop Earrings – Warehouse

Nails – Rimmel Lycra Pro in Trend Spotting

This was my face of the night which I used the fabulous VIVO cosmetics to create:

VIVO Lashes in Feather Boa

VIVO Very Berry Lipstick

VIVO Eyeshadows in Purple Passion and Black Sparkle

I also used VIVO Highlighter to create a dewy finish, which I forgot to include in this photo!

You can find VIVO at selected Tesco stores and it’s really quite a bargain with the products ranging from £1.50 to £6.

What are you wearing this Halloween? And have you tried any VIVO products yet?

Tights Tights Tights!

25 Oct

After being away in the sun for nearly two months now I’ve actually managed to get myself a bit of a tan which is rather exciting! I can usually get away with wearing the ‘Natural Tan’ tights from Marks and Spencer… but on my return, these looked a little pasty on my tanned legs!

So with this predicament in mind, I decided to find my perfect pair of skin coloured tights, particularly as Winter looms. After looking in several shops, I decided I’d have to go online and headed to Tights, Tights, Tights.

They actually have a separate tab for Darker Skin Tones and there’s a really good selection. However, it is difficult to tell which shade is going to suit you on the website so I just went all out (as I do!) and bought 6 different pairs using the free postage when you spend £20 option.

Top Row (L-R) Pretty Polly Naturals 8 Dernier in Slightly Sunkissed (£5), Pendeza Tone 10 15 Dernier (£5.49), Pretty Polly Simply Sheer in Sherry (£8 for 2 Pairs)

Bottom Row (L-R) All Gipsy Sheer Smooth Knit (£1.30) in Mink, Amber and Seigle.

As you can see I got quite an extensive range, and I’m glad I did as four out of six were right for me at various points during my tan and the Amber is just the right colour to give me nicely tanned legs all year round 😉

The Pretty Polly’s are much nicer and have the secret slimmer panels in them but I really liked the Gipsy ones for the price and the variety of shades. I’d generally choose the Pretty Polly’s for a night out and Gipsy for day wear (you don’t feel guilty for getting a ladder in them!).

The delivery time from Tights, Tights, Tights was excellent (first class postage) and I’ll definitely be using them again. They’ve just introduced an open toe pair of Pretty Polly‘s in a variety of shades which I’ll be trying out next!

Where do you buy your tights?

(Continued from Travels – Vietnam and Travels – Cambodia)

So I then went from Battambong in Cambodia overland into Thailand and my final stop was Bangkok. I’ve been there before and it is one of my favourite places in the WORLD (rivalling London and New York!).

Downpour on my shopping trip to Khao San Road:

Some tasty treats:

I really enjoyed by few days in Bangkok and it’s where I did most of my shopping. Also who doesn’t love a good Thai Curry?

I made a little travelling vlog too, showing you some of the bits I bought:

And this is the last of my travel posts so normal fashion/beauty posts will resume in the next few days!

Travels – Cambodia

10 Oct

(Continued from Travels – Vietnam)

I went overland from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam into the beautiful Cambodia. I spent 2 days in Phnom Penh, the capital city where I visited the Grand Palace:

We went on to Siem Reap and visited the Night Markets (time for some shopping!):

Then it was time to visit the Temples… my main reason for wanting to visit Cambodia… simply stunning:

Sunrise at Angkor Wat was just breathtaking:

The Khmer people are so unbelievably friendly and all the kids speak perfect English, it totally blew me away!

I loved Cambodia so much and could’ve spent months at the Temples.  I’d definitely recommend visiting if you can, it’s a beautiful country.

Travels – Vietnam

3 Oct

So I’m back from all my travels and feel you are due an update!

My first stop was Hanoi and I went all the way down the coast to Ho Chi Minh City… then onto Cambodia and overland onto Bangkok (photos of these legs coming up soon!).

Temple of Literature – Hanoi

Street Barber – Hanoi

Crossing the Road in Hanoi at a Pedestrian Crossing!

Halong Bay

Market lady with a bag of toads and a bucket of eels (standard!)

Hue Motorbike Tour

Thien Mu Pagoda – Hue

Stunning Beach on the way down to Hoi An

Me Kong Delta Boat Trip

Me doing a Britney Spears 😉

I absulutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone! The food in Vietnam is seriously amazing… the national dishes are spring rolls and Pho which is a delicious and heart warming noodle soup! x
