Leopard Love

30 Jul

I may have mentioned that I’m now lucky enough to be owner of the sexy Canon 600D Camera, so I’m going to be including lots more (good) photos in my posts – yay!

So here’s a bit of an outfit post featuring my current favourite item of clothing:

Leopard Print Scarf £4 – Primark

Tee – Topshop

Denim Shorts – Forever 21

Tights – Primark

Boots – Vintage

Bag £48- Urban Outfitters

Ring £2.50 – Primark

Watch – Casio on ASOS

Pearl Bracelets – Hobbycraft

Also got a lovely cut (okay, a trim!) and blowdry from Stuart Holmes Salon (Cheltenham) as I’m going to wedding this weekend (keep an eye out for an upcoming ‘wedding guest outfit’ post):

As you can tell I was a tad unprepared for the photo but love my new do, and my stylist Anna was so nice!

Hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

Like Me!

22 Jul

You may have noticed a few new appearances on the right side of my page. Firstly, I now have a Facebook page which you can ‘like’ and thus will be kept informed of any new posts via your news feed. It would be lovely to have some Facebook ‘fans’ so if you enjoy my blog then feel free to ‘like’ me!

I’ve also added a YouTube button which means you can get directly to my channel from here. If you like my videos then do subscribe. I’d also really love to hear any suggestions for upcoming videos.

I’m now also a fully fledged member of iFabbo aka ‘International Organization for Beauty, Fashion and Lifestyle Bloggers’ which is very exciting. Hopefully I’ll get to meet some other bloggers at their events and get some tips for my blog.

Here’s a quick outfit of the day which fully shows off my frizzy hair courtesy of Dove Oil Care Treatment Conditioner!

Trendwatch: The Slipper Shoe

19 Jul

At the weekend, on the tube, I saw the funniest thing. An elderly man dressed in a blazer, smart shirt, pressed trousers and what looked like velour slippers – yes, they had rubber soles! I imagine he was going for the comfort aspect, but in fact, this eccentric gent is on the cutting edge of fashion. That’s right people… the slipper shoe is here!

I’d actually been avoiding the slipper shoe issue, I just thought it was not going to catch on. The Summer weather in England just doesn’t work with a suede, reasonably open, shoe. That was until I tried on the Kosy Suede Topshop Slipper Loafer.

As soon as I put them on, I felt sophisticated and my well worn skinny jeans were suddenly classy! The ballet pump and brogue looked respectively girly and childish in comparison. The elegance… the beauty… feeling as if I was walking around in my own home… all this for just £50?!

Then it came to choosing the colour, did I want the practical black with tassels (the ‘Klass’), the understated yet cool green or the fun sunshine yellow?! Oh I just wanted them all. In the end I went with the feminine coral… which I do have a certain soft spot for at the moment.

I feel this is the beginning of a long and happy relationship with my slipper shoes (as long as it doesn’t rain whilst I’m wearing them!).

I thought £50 was fairly reasonable for such a wearable, comfortable and good quality shoe. But there are a few cheaper options:

Clockwise from top left: ASOS Mikey Polka Dot Slipper Shoe (£30) ASOS Mikey Velvet Slipper Shoe (£30),Topshop Manney Suede Slipper Shoe (£28) and ASOS Lord of The Manor Tapestry Slipper Shoe (£35).

What do you make of this up and coming trend? I think it’s going to be a love it or hate it one… and I LOVE IT! I predict we’ll be seeing these all over the high street over the next couple of months, so if you can wait, there’ll probably be a cheap and cheerful pair in Primark come Autumn.

Happy Birthday Gaga!

28 Mar

Today is the 25th birthday of none other than LADY GAGA. I thought this deserved a mention seeing as she’s pretty much THE fashionista of the moment. I love the woman, and her sense of style. I mean why blend in when you can stand out?!

I may have taken this one step too far at her MONSTER BALL concert last year…. where I dressed up a la Gaga (not your average Nottingham visitor). People kept stopping me asking for photos and the bouncers even let me in the VIP area (fine… I may have paid for the VIP tickets… but still!).

I made the outfit by adding some cardboard and aluminium foil to a dress from the ASOS sale (£20)…. bought the glasses from Primarni (£2!)…. and leather fingerless gloves from Topshop (£15 but well worth it!). Teamed with Gaga-tastic heels I bought waaaay back in 2005, ripped fishnet tights and the best blonde wig I could afford as a poor student.

What do you think? Separated at birth? I’m the one on the right if you can’t tell us apart 😉 haha!

Happy Birthday Gaga…. celebrate in style, and I look forward to seeing what outfit you wear to your birthday bash in tomorrow’s fashion pages.
