The Versace Countdown

16 Nov

So the Versace for H&M collection is less than 12 hours away… I couldn’t help but notice the guys from H&M putting the final touches in the Regent Street window over the last couple of days:

I couldn’t help but stop and stare, the collection is so striking and luxurious.

My favourite piece from the collection has to be this Leather Necklace (£35) as it’s so unique yet wearable (and affordable!):

There’s the Print Jacket (£69.99) which is calling to the eccentric part of me:

Wow am I loving the hair and make up for this collection… it slightly makes me want to go bleach blonde!

Versace have also taken on the LBD very sucessfully, firstly the babydoll (£79.99) which is H&M-esque:

And the Gold Button Dress (£79.99):

If you just want a hint of Versace you could buy the Print Scarf for a bargainous £24.99:

Last I heard there were 16 people in the queue on Regent Street! I’ll be up at 9am attempting to get on to the website trying to get some of these lovelies.

What pieces from the collection will you be buying?

The Best and Worst Dressed at the BAFTA’s

15 Feb

It’s safe to say that Awards Season is upon us. This week we’ve had The BAFTA’s, The Grammys, The Elle Style Awards and we’ve got the Brits tonight! Here are my personal favourites from the BAFTA’s:

Jessica Alba stole the show in this radiant blue grecian inspired Versace maxi dress. Complimented by her glowing skin, plaited updo and vintage necklace, she looked every bit the Grecian Goddess.

This was closely followed by Helena Bonham Carter, who looked magnificent in Vivienne Westwood. Obviously not trying to be ‘on trend’, instead she looked clasically stylish and elegant embracing her womanliness in this gown and jacket combo. She also took home the gong for Best Supporting Actress, not a bad night for her!

Emma Watson is never far down the list these days when it comes to dressing well, and here she is again. She wore a Valentino asymmetric lace style maxi, thoroughly embracing the pleats trend, and the neutral tone only added to her natural grace and youth. She kept accessories minimal with just a pair of striking gold earrings, which complimented her pixie crop.

Now for the Worst Dressed…. I’m sad to say it’s the beautiful Eva Green. She usually looks stunning, but this Tom Ford dress does nothing for her figure and the colour makes her look almost deathly. I do like the sheer arms, and the ruffle texture, but otherwise it’s all wrong and this frock is more Emily Dickinson than glamourous film star…. Oh Eva!!! Let’s hope she makes up for it at The Oscars.
